I was driving up Westgate on a Friday evening at about 4.30pm and a car came roaring down from the top end at high speed. I had already waited for about 6 cars at the chicane that slows everybody down, and it upset me to see what such reckless speed; anyway I could have got through had the driver not been going so fast! Instead of getting impatient I thought – it’s Friday evening, perhaps this person has had a rough week and is longing to be home; and anyway I can be patient and say a quick prayer the car arrives safely. I think this was an impulse of the Holy Spirit as in fact I felt calm and at peace when I might have got mad and done something reckless myself.
