The Parish values which we as parishioners uphold should be based on the Word of God, the teachings of the Church and our Ampleforth Benedictine heritage. Specifically, we should be a community :

    FORTHCOMING EVENTS: 

    ADVENT COURSE – WITH FR. PAUL – SUNDAYS 4/12, 11/12, AND 18/12:

    Advent Course: Celebrating an Adult Christ at Christmas with Fr Paul 3.30-4.30pm in the Priory on SUNDAYS 4, 11, and 18 December. Everyone welcome. 

    ADVENT SERVICE AT JUBILEE COURT – 13 DECEMBER:

    Advent Service - at Jubilee Court Tuesday 13th December at 2.30 pm. All are welcome to come and join us, and help to keep focused on the real meaning of Christmas. A number of young people from St Mary’s High School will be joining us. Refreshments afterwards – all homemade! Sr. Veronica. 

    WOMEN’S PRAYER GROUP – THURSDAY, 15 DECEMBER:

    Women’s Prayer Group – please note this month we will meet on Thursday 15th December, at 73, Runshaw Lane Euxton at 7.30 pm. Everyone welcome. Please contact Angie Bolton 07815 148551 or Sharon Beirne 01257 232479 for more details.

    LEYLAND BAND CHRISTMAS CONCERT, SUNDAY 18 DECEMBER:

    Leyland Band, Christmas Spectacular, 7.00 pm, Sunday 18th December in Church.  Tickets £5.00 for Mayor’s Charities. 

    CALLING ALL CATHOLIC GRANDPARENTS – MASS, LIVERPOOLCATHEDRAL, 18 DECEMBER:

    Catholic Grandparents Association  (CGA) The CGA was started in 2003 and its main aim is to help Grandparents pass on the faith and to keep prayer at the heart of family life. The Apostolic Papal blessing has been received on their work and Pope Benedict XVI composed the great universal prayer for grandparents. To celebrate and thank Grandparents for the hugely important role they play there will be a Mass in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King.  This joint celebration with the Liverpool and Shrewsbury dioceses will be held on Sunday 18th December at 11.00 am. Archbishop Patrick Kelly and Bishop Brian Noble will be the main celebrants. Refreshments will be available afterwards in the Gibberd Room. Grandparents are welcome to bring their children and grandchildren with them. Please sign the list in the Narthex if you would like to attend.  

    RECONCILIATION SERVICE IN CHURCH – TUESDAY 20 DECEMBER:

    Tuesday 20th December 7pm RECONCILIATION SERVICE Rite 2 in Church . This is particularly good for those who struggle with the traditional way of celebrating the sacrament.  We will have extra confessors here and this is open to all in the deanery. 

    CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICES:

    • Vigil Mass: 6.00 pm with Folk Group.
    • Midnight Mass (about) 11.00pm (so will be continuing at midnight) preceded by Carols that start at 10.15 pm (with Choir and Organ)
    • Morning Masses – 8.00 am (with Carols), and 10.00 am (Family Mass with Folk Group).
    • Afternoon Christmas Vespers at St. Mary’s Bamber Bridge 3.30pm. 

    CAFOD FUN RUN 2011 – 27 DECEMBER:

    CAFOD Fun Run 2011 – run or walk with friends and family 27th December, 1.00 pm, Liverpool. £5 entry or £10 per family. Please see poster. 

    VISIT TO THE SHRINE AT MEDJUGORJE – 27 MAY 2012:

    A visit to the Shrine at Medjugorje departs Manchester 27th May 2012 see poster for more details.
